The Members:

Michele Mosher-Higney - Vocals

Vocalist Michele Higney was born in Musquodoboit Harbour on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia and joined her first "real bar band", Freeze, in the 80's right out of High School.

Singing in school talent shows as a youngster, her first hit song was a hearty rendition of Frosty the Snowman at her primary school Christmas concert. She also performed in many local variety shows, usually accompanied by her awesome dad. A couple of her favorite gigs were singing in a variety show in Sheet Harbour with Johnny Gold when she was 12 and a fundraiser with Terry Kelly where she sang his hit "We Can Do Anything" with him.

Michele's greatest musical influences are first and foremost - her Dad. She says, "He was my biggest inspiration and is probably the reason I sing to this day. He believed in me from a very young age." She also admires April Wine (Standback was the very first album she bought), Aretha Franklin, Lionel Ritchie, Pink, Bonnie Raitt, Amanda Marshall, Elton John, Gladys Knight, Heart, Janis Joplin, Rascal Flatts, Stevie Nicks and so many more.

Michele has played with a number of bands, including Freeze, Teaser and Off the Floor and remembers two stand out shows. The first was winning the 1990 Esso Talent Show in Dartmouth and the second was opening for, and meeting Nazareth, when she was a member of Freeze.

Michele's musical goals include playing more, challenging herself vocally, and along with fellow vocalist Barbra Streisand, conquering stage fright someday. Keep singing for us, lady, you're just a song away!

Ian McLaws - Guitars / Vocals

Guitarist and Vocalist Ian McLaws is a Canadian music industry professional with many years of performing and recording experience. With a love of music going back to a role as a soprano in a boys choir in Ottawa, Ian's music career has found him both in front of and behind the microphones. Ian toured for many years in a variety of technical roles with the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Heart, George Thorogood and many, many others. Ian has also performed extensively both as a solo artist and also with a wide variety of notable Canadian artists.

Ian has appeared on numerous recorded works, both as a studio musician (guitars, bass, keyboards, and vocals) and also on his own projects. Ian's former band "Sanderson" nationally released and toured in support of a CD titled "Out Of The Dark", which enjoyed very impressive sales as an independent release.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Ian was first lured into playing guitar for the simplest of reasons...a guitar was lying around the house. Ian's older brother, Bruce, had taken up the guitar but had lost interest, so Ian started "borrowing" it and was very soon completely addicted. Listening avidly to artists such as Harry Chapin and Cat Stevens, and appreciating their ability to present songs as "stories", Ian soon started creating his own stories, transporting the listeners away into whatever world he shared with them. In grade 6 Ian was half of a musical duo that played everywhere that would have them - Ian was now hooked - this music thing became a life long love.

Ian has toured extensively across North America and Europe both as a performer and as an audio engineer. Ian is one of QUICKSILVER's two lead vocalists, and uses a variety of acoustic and electric guitars in every performance.

Les Scheller - Bass / Vocals

Waaaaaay back in the Dark Ages, at the tender age of 17, Bassist Les Scheller walked into The Sandbar in Cape Breton and played the first of what would be many awesome gigs in a life-long and varied musical career.

Born in Dominion, Nova Scotia, Les started playing the bass when he was 13 years old, inspired by his idols and legendary bassists Rush's Geddy Lee, Iron Maiden's Steve Harris and David Lee Roth's Billy Sheehan. Strong influences like those great musicians molded him into a well rounded and accomplished live artist whose masterful bass licks compliment his fellow musicians in many musical genres.

Les has played with a long list of our favorite local acts - Sunset Strip, Bandit, Forgotten Realms (all out of Cape Breton); Alter Ego, Brazen, She Loves Me Not, Roadhawks, Excalibur (all out of Halifax) and The Vault (Ottawa). He enjoyed playing with them all, saying that his most memorable shows had to be the ones he played with Excalibur while on tour throughout Europe and South America.

He has also recorded a couple of albums throughout the years, the first one with Halifax based band, Brazen, and another with The Vault out of Ottawa, Ontario.

Les has a simple musical goal. To be a better musician, each day, than he was the day before...AND to get his picture on the cover of The Rolling Stone!!

Josh Ambrose - Drums / Vocals

Drummer Josh Ambrose grew up in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. His dad was a musician, so Josh was submerged in music from his early years. However, he really started to hone his craft around age 18.

His first show was a grade 8 talent show with a 4-piece band made up of his friends. They picked a hard one to cover, playing Enter Sandman as their entry, and won the show!

His musical influences are wide from The Eagles to the Beatles. He loves anything Motown and cites his father as a great influence in his musical career.

Josh has recorded a couple of albums with the band Worlds Away at Simple Productions in Sackville and New Scotland Yard in Dartmouth.

His most memorable show was at the Navy Fleet Club opening for another great Maritime band, the Stanfields.

Playing music is in his blood and this guy's goal in life is to "have fun rocking til the day I die!"
